  • Biography
    Jos Kruit (born in Alkmaar in 1945) began studying art at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam at the age of 33. Her distinctive sculptures and captivating artworks caught the attention of conceptual pioneer-gallerists Geert van Beijeren and Adriaan van Ravesteijn from the renowned Galerie Art & Project, establishing her as one of their rare female collaborators. Since then, she has exhibited in prestigious venues such as the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, the Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht, and the Rijksmuseum Twente. Currently, Kruit’s works are featured in an overview exhibition comprising 100 works from the collection of the late gallery Art & Project at the Kröller-Müller Museum. In addition to Art & Project, she has exhibited at Galerie Waalkens in Finsterwolde, Nouvelle Images in Den Haag, and Rob de Vries in Haarlem. In 1994, she was awarded the Sandberg Prize for visual arts. Furthermore, she taught at the Dutch Art Institute until 2005. Jos Kruit resides and works in Den Oever, the Netherlands.
